Create a New Dial-Up Networking Connection
If you'd like to edit an existing connection, skip to here
- Click the Start button, go to Settings
- Click Dial-up Networking
- Double click Make New Connection

- Under Type a name for the computer you are dialing, type bway.net
- Click Next
- In the Area code and Telephone number text boxes, type your
local
Bway access number.

- Click Finish
- Right click the bway.net icon and choose Properties

- Click the Networking tab
- For Type of Dial-Up Server, select PPP: Internet, Windows 2000/NT, Windows ME.
- Check Enable software compression.
- Uncheck Record a log file for this connection
- Uncheck NetBEUI.
- Uncheck IPX/SPX Compatible.
- Check TCP/IP.
- Click the TCP/IP Settings button.

- Select the Server assigned IP address button.
- Select the Specify name server addresses button.
- In the Primary DNS text box, type 216.220.96.17
- In the Secondary DNS text box, type 216.220.96.18
- Check both Use IP header compression and Use default gateway on
remote network.
- Click OK

- Click the Security tab
- Enter your username and password
Your
username is the first part of your email address, before the "@" sign. (ex.
for username@bway.net).
- Under Domain type bway.net
- Uncheck Connect automatically
- Uncheck Log on to network
- Uncheck Require encrypted password
- Uncheck Require data encryption
- Click OK

You can now access this connection by going to Start - Settings - Dial-up Networking and double clicking it. If you would like a shortcut to this connection on your desktop, just drag it there.
