December 1, 1996 -- Bill Clinton is back in the White House. Congress is limping to a weak finish. Bob Dole is now a confirmed Matlock fan. Ross Perot has to find a new outlet for his hysterical paranoia. And Derision '96 ...

Well, with the close of business at Democracy Central for this election year, we've pretty much decided that the title won't do at all for 1997. In fact, we're due for a rehab, which is what we'll get. Derision '96 will be back, have no doubt about that. It won't, of course, be called Derision '96 any more. And we're not sure what it will look like. What with business picking up around here lately, this will take some thought.

So, check back with From Hunger magazinein January to see our new political/current events site. In the meantime, we've got to sharpen our pencils, clean out our ears, and find ourselves a new plan. Now let's see ... Derision '97? Nah. Too derivative ...
